Wedding at Loveless Cafe Barn

On October 16 Courtney married her sweetheart, Josh, in a beautiful ceremony at the Loveless Cafe Barn.  Loveless has built a pavilion to one side of the barn affording cover for the guests from the elements but still retains the feeling of being outdoors.

I attended the rehearsal the day before and soon found myself assisting an aunt who was pressed into service to coordinate, advising on who comes down the aisle when and where to sit or stand.  Could be my next career move….naah.  I like playing the viola too much to do that.

Music included songs like “A Thousand Years”, “Marry Me” and “All of Me” for the prelude but turned to the classics for the processionals including the “Canon in D” for the maids while the Wagner “Wedding March” brought Courtney to the altar. The Mendelssohn “Wedding March Recessional” sent them back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Congratulations to Courtney and Josh and their families!

Movie Music for HCA IT Event

On September 29 a quintet of us (we got to add a bass to the quartet…what fun!) gathered at the Schermerhorn to play Hollywood music for an award event for the HCA IT employees.  We set the mood with tunes like “Hooray for Hollywood”, “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, “As Time Goes By” from Casablanca and “Singing in the Rain” (yes, it rained that day too.)

The people at HCA were wonderful to work for and we extend congratulations to those who were recognized at this award event.
