6/29/19 Wedding at the Estate at Cherokee Dock

On June 29, 2019 Nashville Silver Strings quartet had the honor of providing the music for the wedding of Taylor and Bryce at the beautiful Estate at Cherokee Dock near Lebanon, TN.  This is one of those places where you leave the world behind when you pass through the gates it’s so peaceful and idyllic.

Taylor chose mostly contemporary music along with “Canon in D” and “Ave Maria”.  We played “To Make You Feel My Love” for the mothers and grandmothers, “Stand By Me” for the bridesmaids (as in the last Royal Wedding) and “Can’t Help Falling In Love” for Taylor’s entrance.  After a lovely ceremony we played the newlyweds back down the aisle to “You Make My Dreams Come True”.

Soon after the recessional we decamped to the poolside area behind the mansion to play for cocktails while the wedding party had pictures made.  The pool is stunningly beautiful, very artistically done.  We entertained guests with Beatles, Elton John and many other classic rock tunes.

Angelina Ruiz of Velour Premier Events was the planner/coordinator for this wedding.  Angie is an amazing planner and coordinator…one of the very best.  I can’t say enough good things about her ability to coordinate events.  As musicians we’re at the mercy of the coordinator and Angie never forgets us in the heat of the moments leading up to the processionals.  We have the luxury of being able to relax and play our best knowing we won’t have to do any damage control.

Time to congratulate Taylor and Bryce and wish them a wonderful and happy life together!

6/22/19 wedding at the Pick Inn

On June 22, 2019 Lauren wed her sweetheart, Derek, in a “Plan B” ceremony at the Pick Inn near Gallatin, TN.  Trust Nashville weather to get crazy just when you’re ready to walk down the aisle to say your vows.  Fortunately for all of us they had a very beautiful Plan B where the stage in the Pavilion was transformed in minutes into a lovely setting for the ceremony.  While the rain pelted down everyone was dry and comfortable and the ceremony proceeded on time and in good form.

Silver Strings trio of Toni Ferguson, Gary Tussing and myself played pretty selections from our contemporary repertoire for the prelude and processionals.  One of our more recent additions is a lovely mashup of “Perfect” with “Canon in D”…check the title out on youtube and have a box of tissues handy.  Selections for the processionals included “The Gift of Love” for the mothers and grandmothers, “Forever and Ever Amen” for the men, the “Vangelis Hymne” for the bridesmaids (this tune was used for the commercial some years ago that claimed “no wine shall be served before its time”) and finally “A Thousand Years” for Lauren.  For the grand finale…the recessional…we played “Rocky Top” as a prelude to the festivities that followed.

Cool-as-a-cucumber Amanda Jackson, the coordinator, did an amazing job of directing her people to transform the Pavilion into the scene of the ceremony.  The Pick Inn is not only a beautiful venue for weddings and other events, the coordination is flawless.

Congratulations are in order for Lauren and Derek with many wishes for a long and happy life together!
