Wedding at Cheekwood 6/25/16

June 25, another busy wedding day.  We were a quartet this time at the nuptials of Andrea and Daniel in Will’s Garden.  We were very lucky to find shade close enough to the guests and had the luxury of being amplified a little.

After last minute back and forth the music was set with a mix of classics and beautiful contemporary such as “Ladies in Lavender” (the bridesmaids happened to be in lavender dresses, a detail I didn’t know beforehand) and “River Flows in You”.  The mothers, along with Daniel and the pastor, came in to “Baby Mine”, a song that Andrea’s mom was afraid would make her cry but managed to get through it just fine.  Bridesmaids entered to the favorite “Canon in D” while Andrea made her way down the stone steps from the mansion to “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.

During the ceremony vocalist Kandi McIntyre sang “The Prayer” accompanied by Silver Strings.  Her delivery of this gorgeous tune was magnificent.  Nice touch, nice sentiment.  Also a last minute decision was the recessional which I just found out was the third most requested song for a ceremony.  Any ideas before I reveal this little nugget of knowledge?  It was “Shut Up and Dance”.  What a fun tune.  We had so much fun we played it twice.

After the ceremony we reconvened at the Massey building to play for cocktails as well as to play “Don’t Stop Believing” for the introduction of the wedding party into the reception hall.

Congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy life together to Andrea and Daniel!!
