11/21/13 at the Hermitage Hotel

The shortest day of the year was warmed by the wedding of Loren and Alexander at the Hermitage Hotel.  The ceremony took place on the warmly lit Veranda with us, as a quartet, performing classic wedding music and beautiful contemporary selections such as “The Prayer”.  Loren chose the Handel “Aria” as her processional on her dad’s arm.

One of the really neat things that happened during the ceremony was the passing of the rings from hand to hand of the attendants to “warm” the rings in anticipation of their exchange.  After they were pronounced husband and wife we recessed the newlyweds to Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3”.

For the cocktail hour Steve Willets tickled the ivories playing popular music and then later joining Roy Vogt (on bass) to perform upbeat jazz standards for the dinner.  Summer Sheldon, the hotel’s wedding planner/coordinator did a fantastic job of seeing that the different parts of the celebration started on time and ran smoothly.

Congratulations to Loren and Alexander and their families!
